A guy singing and playing the guitar, a girl singing and playing the keyboards, both from a remote part of France, singing about America with a folk / pop / electro music in the background: on paper it sounds like a recipe for disaster but Cocoon did conquer the heart of the French public thanks to their simple but efficient songwriting, their unique arrangements and Mark Daumail’s solid acoustic playing.
