Deep Purple Machine Head
"Let he who never played the Smoke On The Water riff cast the first stone"... But there’s more to the British band than that 1972 hard rock classic. The neo classical organ of John Lord duelling with the twisted blues licks of Ritchie Blackmore made for a powerful and incredibly inventive ensemble. Tommy Bolin and Steve Morse followed in the footsteps of Blackmore but Deep Purple never sounded quite as good as during their early seventies glory days.
