FORUM FAQ

Introduction to Forum Rules & Conduct |
| |
The forums are here for you to ask your questions, get answers from other members, find out about upcoming events, help with the MSB site, help with Guitar Pro, and for just interacting with others who may share common interests with you.
These forums are moderated, and all topics and posts may be deleted by a moderator at his/her discretion. While the moderators are fairly liberal, we do have a few rules in the forums you should respect:
- Please keep your topics in the appropriate forum. On the forum main page you will find an index for the main topics.
- If you create a new topic, please be specific with the subject: don’t write something like “????” or “please help” or “what about…”. Don’t capitalize each letters in your subject.
- No spamming or postboosting.
- MySongBook is hosted in France so your messages must conform to the legislation in force in France. Following is considered as illicit (non exhaustive list):
- Software hacking (incentive with the hacking, provision of pirate software or programs intended for a fraudulent use of the software)
- Vindicating pedophilia or prostitution
- Vindicating racism and racial hatred
- Negation of the crimes against humanity
- Call for murder
- Insulting and slandering people or communities.
Every topic / post in violation of these rules will be erased.
In case of repeated violation a member will be warned and eventually banned from the MySongBook Website.

I saw a topic yesterday and I wanted to reply, but today the topic is gone. What happened? |
| |
The topic was most likely deleted due to content or moved to the proper forum.

I made a post, and now I want it removed. What should I do? |
| |
Once you post, it can't be edited, and may only be deleted by a moderator (so think twice before you post!) You can ask a moderator in the same topic to erase your post.

What happened to my post count? I had 130 posts yesterday, and today I have 50! |
| |
Most likely, your posts were deemed to be in violation of the forum rules, or either the topic(s) in which you posted were removed for a violation.

I posted a topic requesting a new tab in the Music forum. Now it is gone. Why did you delete this topic? |
| |
Chances are we didn't delete it, it was simply moved. Tab requests should only be posted in the Tab Request forum.

What is postboosting, and why is it not allowed? |
| |
Postboosting is a term coined to describe posting nonsensical posts for the sole purpose of increasing your post count. For example, a post with just a smiley in it is postboosting, except when it makes sense considering the previous posts.
Postboosting hurts people who might actually be using the forums for the purpose they are designed, and they have to waste their time sorting through a bunch of smiley's to get the answer they were looking for. It also takes up valuable server space and bandwidth. |
