yes, it writen in the member area that the devellopement of GP 5 has been stopped !
so they will be no 5.3 or more !
and they started the GP 6, from the first ! it's not just taking GP5 and updating it !
they have to create another GP core !
but at least we want a fresh news !!!
MaxProd are you here ?

The only thing I can find on their site is an old message saying they released 5.3 for Mac OS. But indeed, it's about time to receive some news. They promised me soft-scrolling during playback...

I'M happy to get news but after a year or so of blank news 3 small line of text ain't what your customers deserves.
Is there anything more you could tell us???

I'm all relieved now. At least the team of repdev is alive and active. Good to hear.
As for the deadline: can't I work for your company? I would LOVE to have such deadlines.
Regards, Ronnyboy

Looks like you need to read a bit about it......there is a thread about improvement some users are longing to see in next version.

Less than one year.. you'd think that we'd start to hear some news/hype very very shortly.

Not soon enough to have an official release date or even an article with the quarter it will be released in.

I think I remember Repdev wrote in an other topic that the release date would be around June 2009, 5 months to wait apparently...

Hello,
GP6 staff are not marketers, only musician programmers. That's certainly the reason of the lack of communication...
We started 2 years ago an ambitious project: Rewritting entirely Guitar Pro. The goal is to obtain a more portable, stable and evolutive software. Except these basic points, GP6 will propose:
. Some new concepts in the edition (more simple and intuitive)
. A configurable score rendering using stylesheets and design mode
. RSE2: A complete high quality sounds set (all instruments) and the possibility to set yourself the effects chain (and more...)
. Some improvements in the notation and score rendering
. Various improvements taken in the whishlists
GP6 should be ready before the end of the first semester 2009. After that, evolutions will arrive more often, every 12 or 18 months. In the next months, we'll certainly start to communicate and show some screenshots and sound examples...
