Rules:
1 - Original composition only, no songs from previous MSB competitions
2 - You can submit: progressive, heavy, death, extreme
experimental, dark, melodic or whatever thats sound like a ton of brick!!! (everything metal)
3 - at least 1 guitar track
4 - Only one composer by song
5 - Only one song by composer (if you uploaded 2 songs, only the first will be rated... ;P)
6 - No corrections are allowed
7 - No limit of instrument but the minimum is 4!
8 - I will take the 20 first competitors
9 - You must submit your song before March 1
10 - I need 5 judge or less... maybe 4 we will see (... maybe 3)
11 - judges rate without RSE, so don't use it, same chance for everyone.
12 - add this text to your tab in the notice box:
"This Tab is the Part Of Metal Competition 1.
If you have some questions or comments
please use the Metal Competition 1 Official
rules in MSB forum."
13 - max. song length: 15 minutes.
14 - the exception proves the rule :p
For the judges:
- you can give only one 5 stars.
- You have to give one 5 stars.
- Rating is : - 0.5 - 1.0 - 1.5 - 2.0 - 2.5 - 3.0 - 3.5 - 4.0 - 4.5 - 5.0
- rating beginns in March (?)

I'm gonna go ahead and say that me being a judge and competitor is probably a conflict of interests and that I should not be on the competitor list.

yeah I wasn't sure what you wanted to be, so then you're a judge.
Noone can be a judge AND a competitor at the same time of course

Should Metal Competition 1 be moved into Compositions in order for songs to be uploaded? Just an idea.

Yeah, maybe they should move it back to composititons, as long as the competitions-upload won't work...

I don't see any "want to submit a tab for Metal Competition February 2009?" link oO
but it's only temporary:
"SUBMIT TAB section temporary closed,
excepted for the COMPOSITION section artists."
else we'll have to rename it to Metal Competition March 2009

Well I am also not a competitor and still on that list, but I wouldn't mind judging the first 20 songs submitted. Unless a bunch of random assholes who haven't showed any interest in being involved suddenly submit a song. However, people who have expressed interest and at least have some contribution to this site even if it is retarded and pointless, they are worthy of my judgement.

@Narcotic : you're not obliged to rate mine if you think I don't deserve it, but I've still contributed a bit to this site, not as much as you and many of others did, but at least a few 18 tabs.
I know your rating about the tab I'm going to submit is already done (0 or 1 star?) because of my topic about Gagnonov and because you think I'm an asshole, but I don't care of your ratong, I just want to have fun and listen to some good metal compositions (even yours or Gag's).
I did not show interest to this competition before because of my studies, I had not the time to compose this year (too much work, reheasals and concerts) but I had free time last friday so I wrote a metal song for this comp and decide to participate.
By the way, to those who write their tab in GP 5.2 :
I've only 5.0 so if you can send me a GP4 exported tab or a MIDI one so that I can rate it, that would be great.
