Pink Floyd began its existence as a British psychedelic pop outfit led by burnt-out visionary Syd Barrett, but evolved to become so much more. After Syd got left out, they moved to play progressive rock, space rock (Dark Side Of The Moon) and finally a very dark kind of pop (The Wall). David Gilmour remains one of the absolute masters of the electric guitar, with a pristine clean sound, impeccable bends and an extremely tasteful phrasing.
