Short spasms of energetic ecstasy is what rock ‘n’ roll is supposed to be about, right ? If so, then it doesn’t get more rock ‘n’ roll than The Vines. The Australian band’s songs rarely clock over the two-minute mark and deliver edgy riffs, hooky choruses and psychedelic arrangements, all courtesy of singer / lead guitarist Craig Nicholls. Their breakthrough single Get Free was released in 2002, but they are still going strong to this day.
