The Argentine musician took his bandoneon playing to such amazing levels of wizardry that he ended up creating a whole new musical idiom. He took the tango, added elements of classical composition and jazz improvisation and that’s how nuevo tango (new tango) came to be. This essential virtuoso of the twentieth century wrote several thousand compositions in his own style and performed them with various orchestras all through his career.
