Creedence Clearwater Revival
With only six albums released in three years (1968 to 1970), Creedence Clearwater Revival became the all-American answer to the Beatles’ overwhelming success. Unfortunately, the San Francisco band was a victim of its inner tensions and called it quits after a poor seventh release. Nonetheless, their heritage is as strong as ever and their roots rock, influenced by soul, blues and country alike, is an immense part of the classic rock songbook. John Fogerty’s raspy voice and trippy guitar leads as well as his brother Tom’s steady rhythm playing will never cease to inspire.
