In the great tradition of the swing band of the forties, French rock singer Daran chose to give his backing band a name, and cheekily called them Les Chaises (the chairs). Their second collective album, Huit Barré, was released in 1994 and greeted with a great commercial success that gave Daran the foundation to go solo. Since then, the two Chaises guitarists went their own way : Judge Fredd became an acclaimed journalist and Eric Sauviat is currently playing with Francis Cabrel.
