Earl Scruggs
Earl Scruggs was part of the bluegrass royal family. His fast and very precise style turned the five-string banjo into a legitimate solo instrument, to the point that a right hand technique still bears his name. He learned his craft as part of mandolin player Bill Monroe’s band, but then formed the Flatt and Scruggs duo with which he recorded his classic trademark instrumental Foggy Mountain Breakdown.
