Eddie Floyd
Stax Records in the sixties was the epicenter of quality Rhythm n’ Blues, with a dream roster of in-house musicians that accompanied most of their singers, including Donald “Duck” Duck on bass and the sharp and funky Steve Cropper on guitar. Eddie Floyd was one of the singers that best represents that golden era of the Stax label, and his 1966 debut hit, Knock On Wood, is a durable proof of his huge talent as both a performer and a composer.
