Fragos, Baker, Gasparre
When songwriters George Fragos, Jack Baker and pianist Dick Gasparre got together in 1941, they probably didn’t expect the song they wrote together to become a true jazz standard. Jimmy Dorsey and Charlie Barnet covered I Hear A Rhapsody for the first time and both hit the top of the charts with it, but the song’s legendary status probably owes just as much to Frank Sinatra and John Coltrane singing and playing superb renditions of it.
