João Pernambuco
Had he lived in the US rather than his native Brazil, the life of João Pernambuco would sound really close to what the original Delta Blues musicians experienced : raised in poverty, the illiterate orphan struggled to make ends meet while writing superb choros that would get stolen by other composers. His legacy as one of the most important twentieth century composer for the guitar has eventually been recognized, mostly after his death in 1947.
