A few had already tried to include rapped vocals in their hard rock, but none better than Rage Against The Machine succeeded in mixing hip hop and Led Zep-style riffing. When their eponymous debut album hit the shelves in 1992, everybody else instantly started to sound like them. Tom Morello reinvented the guitar as a noise instrument, making the most out of a few pedals. They showed the way and remain untouchables.
