Sabicas
When guitarists from the other side of the stylistic fence hail your technique as the best there is, then you’re probably doing something right. Sabicas was largely recognized by his peers for his mind blowing abilities on the fretboard but that was only one side of his success. Since he left his native Spain during the Civil War of 1936, he helped spread the word of flamenco in Mexico and then the USA and found brand new audiences for what used to be a very exclusive music.
