The neo classical organ of John Lord duelling with the twisted blues licks of Ritchie Blackmore made for a powerful and incredibly inventive ensemble. Tommy Bolin and Steve Morse followed in the footsteps of Blackmore but Deep Purple never sounded quite as good as during their early seventies glory days.
