In the contest for “most underrated band and guitar player of all time”, Free and Paul Kossoff have probably won the first prize. British band Free is mostly known for the 1970 hit All Right Now, yet they have released six full albums of laid-back heavy blues goodness, led by future Bad Co frontman Paul Rodgers. Kossoff’s huge Les Paul sound and sweet vibrato have been a defining influence on many connoisseurs, from Angus Young to Joe Bonamassa.
