John Sebastian does not necessarily get the recognition he would deserve as a singer, guitarist and composer, but his band The Lovin’ Spoonful was a major component of the New York folk rock scene of the sixties. Their 1965 debut single, Do You Believe In Magic, was the soundtrack of the era, and the title track of their second album, Daydream (1966), was even covered as an instrumental by none other than Chet Atkins.
